I Saw, I Conquered
Current state: basic gameplay demo. Arrow keys to move, spacebar spawns another boss. Cut away boss material by running your blade into it.
I'm building this game for the 2025 Boss Rush Jam. Concept: destroy bosses by cutting away material until they break up. Your cutting power is affected by movement speed and spin speed.
Latest update 1/18/25: Probably the most important update in the entire project: player now has googly eyes. Basic boss behavior partially implemented.
Features to be implemented by end of jam:
- Basic boss behavior, rotating through attacks
- Visible skeleton for bosses, so remaining parts aren't floating on their own
- Health and damage; player can be killed
- At least 2 boss weapon types: beam or bullet, and missile
- Dash attack for player
- At least 3 bosses with different behavior
- Visual distinction between materials of differing toughness
Other things to do if there's time:
- Different types of power-ups
- Sound!
- Support for mouse and touch control
